The last Batman weekly, Batman Eternal, was a hit for DC, so it makes sense to start up a new one!  Here’s how DC describes what this series is about:

Five years ago, Batman and Robin worked the most disturbing case of their crimefighting careers-bringing down the organization of the ultimate human trafficker, the mysterious woman known only as Mother. At the time, Dick Grayson never quite understood the scope of that case, but now its darkest secrets are coming back to haunt him and everyone else who ever worked with Batman! With  Bruce Wayne now lost to them, Dick and all his allies are out in the cold! Who can they trust? Is someone among them not who they say they are? And who is the deadly, silent young woman in black who’s come to Gotham City looking for Batman?

James Tynion IV and Scott Snyder are behind the writing so you know you’re in good hands!  Tony S. Daniel draws the first issue (and will rotate with other artists)!

—– Convergence HC – DC – $29.99 —–

When DC moved their head offices from New York to Burbank, California, they needed an ‘event’ to fill the publishing gap when they wouldn’t be putting out any books.  Hence, “Convergence” and the many mini-series that sprung from it!  Also available this week: “Convergence Zero Hour TP Book 1” and “Book 2”, both at $19.99 each!

—– Crisis on Infinite Earths Deluxe Edition HC – DC – $49.99 —–

The mini-series from the ’80s that changed what an “event” could be in the comics world gets the “deluxe edition” hard-cover treatment!  Available from Amazon.com for $27.49, but Amazon.ca doesn’t seem to recognize its’ existence just yet…

—– The Omega Men #5 – DC – $2.99 —–

Continuing by popular demand!  Get it!  Get extra copies!  Hand them out to friends, strangers, co-workers, ANYONE!  Help get this book the sales it deserves!

STK685856 Image

“Secret Wars” isn’t over yet, but don’t let that discourage you from trying on this new series from Dan Slott and Giuseppe Camuncoli!

—– Avengers #0 – Marvel – $5.99 —–

STK685858 Image

So you picked up “Avengers: Age of Ultron” on Blu-ray/DVD last Friday, and want more.  How about a zero issue that gets you in on the ground floor of “Earth’s Greatest Heroes”?

—– Darth Vader #10 – Marvel – $3.99 —–

STK679942 Image

The Marvel “Star Wars” line has been amazing so far.  And it continues here!  Also look for “Darth Vader TP Vol. 1” collecting the first six issues, available this week for $19.99!

—– Doctor Strange #1 – Marvel – $4.99 —–

STK685861 Image

Marvel has a “Doctor Strange” movie upcoming, so best to get a comic book series going!  Jason Aaron’s writing, and Chris Bachalo’s drawing, so it should be good!

—– Invincible Iron Man #1 – Marvel – $3.99 —–

STK683333 Image

From the creators of “Ultimate Spider-Man”, Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez give Tony Stark a brand-new series!

STK680688 Image

—– Heroes: Vengeance #1 (of 5) – Titan – $3.99 —–

STK684156 Image

Yeah, they’re shooting scenes for an episode in my hometown.  Just the same, I enjoyed the original “Heroes” TV series, and the “Heroes Reborn” reboot has been pretty good.  This comic book series focuses on a different character every story arc!

—– Jughead #1 – Archie – $3.99 —–

STK681411 Image

If this is even half as enjoyable as the rebooted “Archie” series has been, it’ll be great!  But with Chip Zdarsky writing this, I have nothing to worry about!

—– Rachel Rising TP Vol. 6: Secrets Kept – Abstract Studios – $16.99 —–

STK680582 Image

If you haven’t been reading this, go and pick up the first five trades and get back to me!  Collects issues #31-36!

That’s a ton of good books coming out!  What are you picking up this week?
